Pair the provider you intend to use

Choose the supported provider in CSR and follow its connector setup. Use the model available through that provider account. A second provider needs its own setup and pairing; typing another provider's model into an existing connection does not switch it.

Manage the connection in one window

The desktop connector offers Start, Stop, Restart and Diagnostics, plus an option to start when you sign in to Windows. Saved pairing can be reused on that computer. Closing the browser or the desktop connector window does not itself stop the background connector; use Stop to disconnect.

Keep the computer available

The local process, network and provider authentication must remain available. Signing into CSR from another browser does not move the runtime off your computer. A shutdown or stopped worker interrupts availability.

Review Build permission separately

Connection status and repository readiness are separate from authorization to edit files or run tests. Review the current scope when the project, provider, workspace or source changes. Use separate workspaces for simultaneous editing to avoid conflicting changes.
